Our Story
Hey there, fellow dessert lovers! I'm Joanna- the mastermind behind the oven here at Joanna Cakes. After a decade of working as a Baker, I decided to sprinkle a bit of sweetness in this new neighbourhood by running a bakery out of our home sweet home.

I whisked my way into Deep River in 2023, alongside my trusty sidekick (aka my husband), David. He's the official taste tester and enthusiac supporter of all my sugary experiments- a job he takes seriously, but hey, someone's gotta do it!

Baking isn't just a job for me; it's a way to make people smile and to bring joy into everyday moments. So welcome to our cozy home bakery- where every cake, cookie, and baked good is crafted with a dash of passion and love!

We're a home-based bakery located in the town of Deep River, ON. 
We don't offer delivery- we're all about the 'pick up the deliciousness and let the aroma fill your car' vibe. All orders are to be picked up at a local address in Deep River, so swing by, grab your treats, and say hi!

You will receive a response within 1 business day. Once we have figured out all the details, you will receive an estimate via email. When you (hopefully) decide to proceed, you will then receive an invoice by email. Remember, payment is required up front so that I can source your ingredients, spectacular sprinkles, and perfect packaging. Your payment reserves your pickup date too! Win win for all of us!
Unfortunately, no. Our treats are currently in a committed relationship with gluten and dairy. 
We understand that cravings can strike at any time! While we recommend placing orders in advance, we'll do our best to accommodate- just give us a shout!

Yes (for a small fee)! The purpose of Designer cakes is to make your cake ordering as smooth as butter! However, we understand that sometimes your cake needs a personal touch. That's why we offer custom writing on cakes, as well as cake toppers. The style of these customizations is typically left to our discretion, as we like to think we know a thing or two about making a cake look good!
